Course Objectives:

We will be covering the history of the US from Reconstruction to the present day. Additionally we will focus on certain skills: Cornell Notes, Outlines, etc.

 

Class Policies:

1.     Making up missed work and tests are the responsibility of the students. Handbook specifications apply.

2.     Students must keep up with assignments using the class web page and planners.

3.     Due dates are firm. Late work is half credit. Except with excused absence.

4.     Students must bring books and supplies daily.

5.   Extra help available by arrangement.

Procedures:

          Lectures, notes, discussions, some group activities.

HW is posted to board and website.

Random 5 question quizzes.  Tests at the end of each unit.

EC: outline of chapters. (optional)

Materials:

Bring book, notebook, pens (black/ blue ink) & folder for saved work daily.

Grades:

40% Classwork and Homework; 40% Tests and Quizzes; 20% Projects –

EC up to 2% (see activism/ volunteerism on website for ideas)

Rules: All Student handbook rules apply. Additionally:

1.      Follow all directions the 1st time given.**

2.      Be in class on time and ready to work at the bell.

3.      Be courteous & kind.

4.      Passes are for emergencies only

Consequences:

1.      Conference & record kept.

2.      Calls home.

3.      Detentions.

4.      Office Referral- administration
